I am running Ubuntu Linux on an AMD64 processor.

Specifications of my Workstation:

• ASUS Mainboard A8N-SLI DELUXE AMD ATX
• AMD Athlon 64 3000+ S939 1.8GHz 90nm
• 1GB Kingston RAM
• ASUS VGA PCIeX16 EN6600GT 128MB NVIDIA Graphics Card
• 2 acer AL1715 TFT monitors for TwinView
• Hitachi HDD SATA-II 160GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache
• Samsung HDD SATA-II SP2014N 200.0GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache

I upgraded the Graphics Card with a Zalman VF700-Cu ultra quiet VGA Cooler to reduce the noise level. And I am really satisfied with this box.

The case fans of the box did I connect to the "mainboard fan connector", so they are temperature controlled, too. And run normally on very slow RPM. Now, I have a really quiet system in a "small" box (Desktop Case). I replaced the chipset fan with a silent one, too.
